Mayweather’s plea removed the possibility at her sentencing of spending up to 20 years behind bars.

“We resolved the case between Iyanna and the State. The agreement calls for Iyanna being on deferred adjudication for a period of 6 years after which she will have no felony c’onv’iction and the c’ase will be dismissed.
She is eligible to have the deferred adj’udication end after two years pending her good behavior,” PEOPLE quoted Mayweather’s attorney Kent Schaffer.
In addition to the crim’in’al case, Mayweather also faces a civil la’wsuit. NBC News reports that Jacobs sued Mayweather for dam’ag’es, including ph’ysi’cal pain and me’ntal an’gu’ish from the at’tack. She is also seeking an undisclosed amount of money.
The events leading up to the April 2020 stabbing are unclear, but the police ar’re’sted Mayweather following the alte’rcation at NBA Youngboy’s home, according to NBC. Jacobs was hospitalized after suffering non-life-threatening injuries and underwent surgery.
Schaffer said, “Although we believe that Iyanna was defending herself after being at’ta’cked, we thought this [guilty plea] was the safest resolution for her. This is especially true since her boyfriend and his bodyguards refused to testify, probably due to their own legal problems.”
