Nicki minaj father ki’ller pleads guilty.
The man who ki’l’led Nicki Minaj‘s fat’her, Robert Maraj, in a hit-and-run last year has pleaded guilty.
According to reports, Charles Polevich, 71, has pled gu’ilty to one count of leaving the scene of an inc’ident without rep’orting and one count of tam’pering with physical evi’dence, which are both felony charges.
Although he was facing up to 7 years behind bars, it looks like he won’t be spending much time in pris’on after all.
Reportedly, Judge Howard Sturim committed to sentencing Charles Polevich to only one year in jai’l, along with community service and suspension of his driver’s license.
It is unclear why Polevich would get such a reduced sentence for two felony charges. His attorney, Marc Gann had this to say in a statement:
“Mr. Polevich’s life story is one of helping others, which makes this case so out of character. There are no alle’gations of substance use or ab’u’se as cau’sative of his conduct and it is our belief that a medical he’art issue contributed to Mr. Polevich’s conduct. Mr. Polevich could not be more sorry for the loss of Mr. Maraj.”
As previously reported, Nicki Minaj, 39, lost her father, Robert Maraj, 64, February 12th in a fa’tal hit-and-run car crash in Mineola, New York. Charles Polevich was ac’cu’sed of st’riking the “Anaconda” rapper’s dad in Long Island, and driving away without calling 911. Robert Maraj passed away at the hospital a day later.
Nicki Minaj did not speak publicly about the incident until May 2021, when she posted a message to her official website that said her father’s d’ea’th had been “the most devastating loss of my life.” She wrote:
I can’t really ring myself to discuss the passing of my father as of yet; I can say it has been the most devastating loss of my life. I find myself wanting to call him all the time. More so now that he’s gone. Life is funny that way. May his soul rest in paradise. He was very loved & will be very missed.”
