Steve Harvey Finally Reacted To Will Smith’s Slap .
Steve Harvey is the latest celebrity to weigh in on Will Smith’s al’terca’tion amid Smith’s public apology to Chris Rock, the Academy and fellow actors.
A comment made at the expense of Jada Pinkett Smith has become one of the most-talked moments at the Academy Awards this year.
While presenting the Best Documentary award, Chris Rock joked about Jada’s buzz cut hairstyle, who suffers from the medical condition alopecia.
The comment wasn’t well-received by Will Smith who walked up to the stage and slapped Rock, leaving the audience at the Dolby Theatre stunned.
Presenter and actor Steve Harvey is the latest celebrity to react to the al’terc’ation.
Many people have shared their thoughts to what happened at the 2022 Oscars, including fellow actors, presenters, musicians and viewers at home.
Steve Harvey said that the Oscar-winning actor could have handled the situation in a different way which would have led to a more different outcome.
“I understand defending the honour of your wife, I am that dude,” the comedian said during an episode on Steve Harvey Morning Show. “That joke was not worthy of the reaction. If he was going to have a reaction, I think Will should have done the man thing and step toward him afterwards in the press room.”
Steve continued: “The Oscars is all Hollywood is about. It’s their biggest moment and for you to do that in the biggest moment […] Denzel told him right, ‘In your biggest moment, it’s when the devil comes for you’. You [Will Smith] should have handled that totally different man. He owed Chris an apology.”
Will Smith has apologised to Chris Rock after the altercation, writing that his behaviour was “unacceptable and inexcusable”.

“My behaviour at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally,” the actor wrote in an Instagram post.
Smith apologised to Rock, writing that he was “out of line” and said that those actions are not “indicative of the man I want to be”.
He also apologised to the Academy, producers of the show, fellow attendees, viewers at home, the Williams Family and his King Richard family.
“I deeply regret that my behaviour has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us,” he added.
